What should we do when the insect enters the ear?
The tenacity of many insects is far beyond ordinary people's imagination. The self-help measures for insects introduced on the Internet (lighting their ears with flashlight and pouring perfume oil) are not necessarily effective for cockroaches. Most cockroaches are photophobic, and they may drill deeper when they see light. Cockroaches are very resistant to hypoxia, and their activities can be limited by immersion, but it is difficult to kill them. Don't use a cotton swab or a scoop to pick out any insects that have entered the outer ear canal. If you look back at the first moving picture, you will only stab the insect deeper and deeper with a cotton swab.
Before going to the hospital, you can put some bread crumbs in the ear canal. Cockroaches may come out by themselves. For cockroaches moving in the ear canal, clean, non irritating and warm liquid (usually warm water) can be poured into the ear, which can temporarily restrict their activities, so as to reduce the panic before going to the hospital. I don't quite agree to drop oil into the ear canal. First, it is not easy to dry the ear afterwards. Second, if there is tympanic membrane perforation, oil may stimulate the middle ear.
Of course, the safest way to use it is to seek the help of an otologist. The doctor has professional lighting equipment and otology equipment, which can safely remove insects and other foreign matters in the external auditory canal. When the bug flies into the ear, you should never dig it out. Once you dig it out, the bug will fly inwards when it is stimulated, which is easy to damage the tympanic membrane. If the small flying insect flies into the ear, it is better to use the biological characteristics of some small insects towards the light. It can irradiate the outer ear crossing with the light of a flashlight in the dark. When the small insect sees the light, it will climb out by itself. It can also blow a cigarette into the ear eye to choke the small insect out. If the above method does not work, you can lie on your side to make the affected ear upward, and then drop several drops of edible oil into the ear to stick or kill or suffocate the insects. When the insects in the ear stop struggling, wash the ear canal with warm water to flush them out. In ancient Chinese medical books, there are early records of "one hundred insects in the ear, good wine in the ear" and the death of insects in the ear. The purpose of using wine and oil is to make the insect drown or kill quickly. Even if it does not die, it cannot move. It can avoid suffering less. Then it can go to the otolaryngology department of the hospital calmly and let the doctor take it out.
