According to the national emergency plan for sudden geological disasters, geological disasters can be divided into four levels according to the degree and scale of hazards: extra large, large, medium and small geological disasters and geological disasters

(1) major geological hazard and disaster (level I): under the threat of disaster, the geological hazard with more than 1000 people to be relocated or potential economic loss of more than 100 million yuan is a major geological hazard.

The geological disaster with more than 30 deaths or a direct economic loss of more than 10 million yuan caused by the disaster is a major geological disaster.

(2) large scale geological hazard and disaster (Level II): under the threat of disaster, the number of people to be relocated is more than 500 and less than 1000, or the geological hazard with potential economic loss of more than 50 million yuan and less than 100 million yuan is a large-scale geological hazard.

Geological disasters with more than 10 or less than 30 deaths, or direct economic losses of more than 5 million yuan and less than 10 million yuan are large-scale geological disasters.

(3) medium-sized geological hazard and disaster (level III): under the threat of disaster, the number of people to be relocated and transferred is more than 100 and less than 500, or the geological hazard with potential economic loss of more than 5 million yuan and less than 50 million yuan is medium-sized geological hazard.

The geological disaster with more than 3 or less than 10 deaths, or direct economic loss of more than 1 million yuan and less than 5 million yuan caused by the disaster is a medium-sized geological disaster.

(4) small scale geological hazard and disaster (level IV): under the threat of disaster, the number of people to be relocated and transferred is less than 100, or the geological hazard with potential economic loss less than 5 million yuan is small scale geological hazard.

The geological disaster with less than 3 deaths or direct economic loss of less than 1 million yuan caused by the disaster is a small-scale geological disaster.
