UEFA nations League is a national men's football tournament sponsored by the European Football Association and attended by its member associations. The event is held in a cross annual manner and will replace the friendly competition between national teams. The first competition will be held in September 2018. The results of this league will not affect the qualification of the World Cup European preliminary, but the winning teams of each level will have the opportunity to participate in the additional matches of the European Cup.
