When is Bailu in 2018

Bailu time in 2018: 00:29:37 on September 8, 2018, and 29:00 on July (University) 2018 in the lunar calendar.

Bailu is the 15th solar term in the 24 solar terms, and it is also the end of the Shenyue and the beginning of the youyue in the dry and branch calendar; the time point is from September 7 to 9 in the Gregorian calendar every year, when the sun reaches 165 degrees in the Yellow longitude.

It is said in the interpretation of the 72 waiting for the moon: "August Festival & hellip; hellip; is getting more and more cloudy, and it's dewy and white. 'as the weather turns cold, there will be many dewdrops on the ground and leaves in the early morning. This is because the water vapor condenses on it at night, so it's named. The ancients used four seasons to match five elements. Autumn belongs to gold and is golden and white. Therefore, autumn dew is described as white. Bailu is actually a sign that the weather has turned cold.

What season is Bailu

The festival is now in the mid autumn.

The climate is like spring, not only flowers and trees are still flourishing, but also some flowers are more colorful than spring, such as hibiscus, Begonia, jasmine, cockscomb and wild goose. Especially, the season of silvergrass blossoms and dew in the field is the beginning of the cool season, which is also a solar term with the largest temperature difference between day and night in the whole year. As the saying goes, "White Dew is cold at night, hot at day" and "White Dew is autumn night, one Cold night '.

At this time, the temperature began to drop, the weather turned cool, and there was dew on the grass and trees. It's called Bailu because it's cold and white. Bailu is on September 7, 8, or 9 of each year, whichever is 165 degrees after the sun reaches the Yellow longitude. 'the Yin is becoming more and more serious, and the dew is coagulating and white. That's what it says. Because of the temperature drop, in the field, water vapor touches the ground or near earth objects, and condenses into water drops due to the cold. The appearance of Bailu indicates that the weather has begun to cool again in one year. At this time, the daily average temperature in most areas of China has dropped below 22 ℃, and at night, it can feel a little cool. Deep in the mountains, the forests are dyed, the mountains are red, and the golden autumn is everywhere.

What's the custom of Bailu

Date beating

Before and after Bailu, the farmers began to collect dates. Most of the time, they beat dates with bamboo poles. They just need to use light force to reduce the damage to the jujube trees. Otherwise, the output of the jujube trees will be worried next year. This situation is called "deafness".

The technique of beating jujube is to beat some jujube on the big branch at first and shake some jujube off. For those jujubes that have not been vibrated down, they are crossed with a pole along the direction of the branch growth, similar to stroking.

The three principles of beating jujube are: first, protect jujube trees; second, strike them clean; third, make jujube fall in the shade of trees, and do not shoot jujube out too far, or it will be lost.

Eat longan

Bailu in Fuzhou and other places in Fujian Province should eat longan tonic on this day, because longan itself has many effects such as tonifying qi and spleen, nourishing blood and calming nerves, moistening and beautifying skin, and it can also treat anemia, insomnia, neurasthenia and other diseases.

And the longan before Bailu is big and the core is small and sweet, so it's not surprising that it's fashionable to eat fresh longan.

Bailu tea

Old Nanjing people are very fond of Bailu tea. After the hot summer, Bailu tea is a good time for growth.

Bailu tea is not as fresh and tender as spring tea, not soaked, nor as dry and bitter as summer tea, but has a unique sweet and mellow fragrance, especially loved by old tea customers.

Rice wine

There is also the custom of brewing Bailu rice wine in the old Nanking of Jiangsu and Zhejiang. In the old days, Bailu was made by the families in the countryside of Jiangsu and Zhejiang every year to entertain guests.

Bailu rice wine is brewed from glutinous rice, sorghum and other grains, which is slightly sweet, so it is called Bailu rice wine.

The best product of Bailu rice wine is chengjiu, which is named after Chengjiang river water. Chengjiu, an ancient tribute wine, has a long reputation.

The brewing method of Bailu rice wine is quite unique, besides taking water and selecting solar terms. First brew white wine (commonly known as "local burning") and glutinous rice wine, then pour the white wine into the wine according to the proportion of 1:3, and put it into the jar for drinking.

If the process wine is made, it must be mixed with a proper amount of grits water (grits are boiled with water), then sealed in the jar, buried in the ground or cellared. The process wine buried for decades is brown red, poured with silk, easy to import, fragrant and strong in aftereffect.
