The best observation time of Perseid meteor shower in the process of solar eclipse

This year's only "dog biting day" has been staged, and the "first of three meteor showers" Perseid meteor shower will also come romantically. I don't have enough time to watch it, so how to observe the Perseid meteor shower correctly?

The process of solar eclipse

Three time nodes:

The first loss (beginning of eclipse), that is, when the moon approaches the sun, the first time the apparent circle of the sun and the moon is tangent, marks the beginning of eclipse in this place.

What to eat, that is, the moment when the center of the moon and the sun are closest, at this time, the part that sees the sun covered is the largest.

When the Moon leaves the sun, the second circumscribed moment of the apparent circle of the sun and the moon marks the end of the eclipse.

It should be noted that the degree and time of solar eclipse are different in different regions. Generally speaking, the earlier the northern eclipse occurs, the more perfect the process of solar eclipse is due to the late sunset.

Astronomy experts remind that the public must not use the naked eye to observe the partial solar eclipse directly, so as to prevent the sun from burning the eyes. The telescope or camera should pay more attention to the use of light reduction measures.

partial solar eclipse

Introduction: it will take place for the third time this year and the last partial eclipse the next day.

Observation in Beijing

At 18:12, the sun's altitude was only about 12 deg.

At 18:51, the food score was about 0.35

At 19:28, the sun had already set before the reunion, and only the beginning of partial eclipse could be seen in Beijing.

Warning: to watch a partial solar eclipse, you must use a professional filter to do a good job in reducing light protection. It is very dangerous to use the naked eye or telescope to directly observe the sun.

Perseid meteor shower

Introduction: the Perseid meteor shower appears from July 20 to August 20 every year and reaches its climax on August 13. It is not only a large number, but also almost never absent from the stars in summer. It is the most active and often observed meteor shower with a fixed time every year. It is also the best meteor shower for non professional meteor observers, the first of the three periodic meteor showers in the whole year.

Observation in Beijing: this year's maximum appears from 4:00 a.m. to 16:00 a.m. on August 13, Beijing time. In this period, most areas of China are in the daytime, but the evening of 12th to the early morning of 13th is still a better time for observation. The radiation point will rise from the Northeast horizon after 22 o'clock at night. The hourly zenith flow of Perseus is 110, 'which is only a theoretical value. Generally, if we can see 50 to 60 in an hour, it is very good.

Reminder: this year's Perseid meteor shower observation conditions are better. Since August 13 is the third day of the lunar calendar, the moon is still a crescent, and soon falls below the western horizon, so the observation will not be affected by the moon, and many meteors can be seen with the naked eye. In addition, during the maximum period, the observation location in China is also ideal. We need to remind that we can't see it too early. We can see it after 22 p.m. and the higher the Perseus rises, the better the observation effect.
