If a female employee gives birth in accordance with the family planning regulations and has difficulties in raising a baby after the expiration of the maternity leave, she may apply for breastfeeding leave upon her own application and approval of the leader.

Article 9 of special provisions on labor protection of female employees

The employing unit shall not extend working hours or arrange night shift work for female employees who breast feed infants under one year old. The employing unit shall arrange one hour of lactation time for the female workers in the lactation period during the working hours of each day; if the female workers have multiple births, one hour of lactation time shall be increased for each additional baby.

Breastfeeding leave refers to the year after the birth of the baby. Within the working day, the mother has two times of 0.5 hours of lactation time every day, a total of 1 hour each day. The two times can be used together or separately. One hour of breast-feeding leave per day shall be regarded as working hours, and the normal payment of wages shall not be reduced, and shall not affect promotion, adjustment of wages and calculation of working age.

How long is nursing leave

Breastfeeding leave for one year (one year after the birth of the baby) can enjoy 0.5 hours of breastfeeding twice a day, which can be combined into one hour. Leave work one hour in advance or work one hour in the evening (breastfeeding leave includes artificial feeding).

Article 9 of the regulations on labor protection of female employees stipulates that: for female employees who have babies under one year old, their unit shall give them two times of lactation (including artificial feeding) within the working time of each shift, each time for 30 minutes. In case of multiple births, the lactation time will be increased by 30 minutes for each additional baby. The two times of lactation for female workers in each shift of working hours may be used in combination. The time of lactation and the time on the way back and forth of lactation in the unit shall be counted as working time.
