How to swallow fish bone by mistake

4hw.org: friends who often eat fish will inevitably experience being stuck by fish bones. General knowledge tells us that we can come here after drinking vinegar and eating steamed bread. However, recently, a man was stuck by a fish bone. This small fish bone actually pierced his heart. Fortunately, it was taken out after surgery. What should we do if it is stuck by a fish bone? Let's see the details below.

Late on the night of August 9, Uncle Li (pseudonym) from Shanghai went through a 4-hour thrilling operation in Zhongda Hospital Affiliated to Southeast University. The multiple departments of Zhongda Hospital took out a fish bone with two extremely sharp ends and a length of nearly 4cm from Uncle Li's heart. This "slow guest" almost killed uncle Li.

Because of a fishbone, he was transferred to another hospital twice with high fever

A few days ago, Uncle Li, 50, had a fever. The fever was 39 degrees. He rushed to the local hospital. After a series of tests, the cause of the disease has not been determined. It was not until the doctor asked that Uncle Li recalled that he had eaten a bream five days ago. After eating, there was a faint tingling sensation in his chest, but the pain was not very strong, and he did not pay attention to it. He still ate normally.

Doctors highly suspected that it was the fish bone that caused the infection in the body that caused the high fever. As expected, the trace of the fish bone was found in the CT examination. Only the fish bone had pierced the esophagus. In view of the critical situation, it is suggested that Uncle Li go to Shanghai hospital for treatment. After transferring to another hospital, the hospital considers that the risk of removing the fishbone is high, so it is suggested to take conservative treatment. However, Uncle Li's high fever never subsided, and the family fell into confusion again. It was introduced that on the evening of August 8, Uncle Li was transferred to Nanjing Zhongda Hospital overnight for treatment.

A fishbone pierces the esophagus and the heart

Uncle Li's fish bone 'traveled' for half a circle in his body. From three CT examinations before and after the patient, it was found that the fish bone had been running all the time. After being eaten by mistake, it first pierced the esophagus, then the left atrium, and finally fell into the left ventricle. Zhou Jianming, chief physician of the thoracic and cardiac surgery who received Uncle Li, said.

With the "swimming" of the fishbone, Uncle Li's condition gradually worsened. If the fish bone continues to move, it may run into the blood vessels and cause embolism. If you move again carelessly and puncture the great artery, you will be in danger of massive bleeding. However, if the heart valve is punctured to cause regurgitation, it will increase the difficulty of operation.

Is the fishbone taken or not? If the fishbone is taken out by operation, and Uncle Li has serious infection at present, the operation faces great risk. The infection will become more and more serious without removing the fishbone. Doctors and their families are in a dilemma & hellip;

4 hours operation, 4 cm fishbone removed

After careful examination, multi-disciplinary consultation, discussion and repeated evaluation of infection, and full communication with patients' families, director Xue Tao of cardiothoracic surgery of CUHK led the operation team, including Wang Yuhua, Zhou Jianming, Lu Qitong and Jing Shengjie, decided to break through the risk and perform the operation for patients.

Finally, we found this 4 cm long 's' shaped fish bone in the left ventricle. Fortunately, the fish bone did not move again. The doctor and his family were shocked when they took out the sharp four centimeter long fish bones.

The operation lasted from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. on August 9 and lasted for four hours. After the operation, the patient was transferred to intensive care unit.
