I. overseas Chinese

They are Chinese citizens designated to reside abroad.

2. Overseas Chinese

It refers to the former Chinese citizens who have joined the foreign nationality and their descendants of foreign nationality; the descendants of foreign nationality of Chinese citizens.

It refers to overseas Chinese who have returned to China and settled down.

(1) "returning to China for settlement" means that overseas Chinese give up their long-term, permanent or legal right of abode in the country where they originally lived and go through the formalities of returning to China for settlement according to law.

There is also a transition zone in the middle. If you have emigrated abroad and obtained the right of long-term residence, you can only obtain the nationality of your country after a certain period of time. This is "overseas Chinese who will soon become Chinese". Therefore, 'Chinese permanent residents overseas Chinese' is a continuous distribution, and overseas Chinese may be transformed into permanent residents, while permanent residents will be transformed into Chinese.

It refers to the family members of overseas Chinese and returned overseas Chinese in China.

(1) the family members of overseas Chinese include: the spouses, parents, children and their spouses, brothers and sisters, grandparents, grandparents, grandchildren and grandchildren of overseas Chinese and returned overseas Chinese, as well as other relatives who have long-term custody relationship with overseas Chinese and returned overseas Chinese.
