Typhoon nomenclature is also called tropical cyclone nomenclature system in the Northwest Pacific and South China Sea. Typhoon refers to a level of tropical cyclones in the Northwest Pacific and South China Sea, which is often mistaken for tropical cyclones. The international unified tropical cyclone nomenclature is a nomenclature developed jointly by the surrounding countries and regions affected by the formation of tropical cyclones, and then used repeatedly year after year in order.

The naming table first gives the English name, and each member country can translate the name to the local language according to the pronunciation or meaning. When a tropical cyclone name is used, causing great losses to one or more member countries, the name will be permanently removed from use. Member States suffering losses may appeal to the World Meteorological Organization to remove their names. Like people's names, typhoons have their own names. Before the formation of each typhoon, people had already named them. Last year's typhoons are still vaguely memorable, and this year we are going to have all kinds of typhoons again.

Typhoon season month 2017

Usually from May to September every year, is the concentration period of typhoon impact on our country. From the data of typhoons landing in China from 1949 to 2014, Hainan Province is the only coastal province (city, district) with typhoons landing in April; from May, the possible landing range of typhoons will gradually expand northward from the South China coast to the peak in August, the "wave track" of the whole coastal area; from September, it will rapidly shrink southward.

The environment of typhoon must have high temperature, large amount of water and air, convection, wind in different directions and natures, and vortex caused by fluctuation, which are suitable for summer and autumn. After autumn, the direct sunlight moves southward, and the water temperature of the ocean surface gradually decreases. In addition, the southeast trade wind of the southern hemisphere is less likely to enter the northern hemisphere, and there is less chance for typhoons to form in the northern hemisphere. Therefore, most typhoons in the northern hemisphere occur in July, August, September and October, while others are less, especially from December to April of the next year.
