There is a difference between ESP and no esp in a car

4hw.com.cn: for all of you, the ESP system is no stranger. ESP has been more and more loaded into low-end models. On the one hand, as a gimmick of automobile manufacturers, on the other hand, ESP system is really important. Even in some countries, if the car does not have ESP, it is not allowed to be sold. So do you really know about car ESP? Does ESP need to be on all the time? Let's take a look at it with Xiaobian~

1、 Principle device of ESP. ESP is the abbreviation of electronic stability program in English. It integrates ABS (anti lock braking system), bas (brake assist system) and ASR (acceleration and anti-skid control system), and has more powerful functions. ESP can help the vehicle maintain dynamic balance by analyzing the vehicle driving status information sent from each sensor, and then sending rectification instructions to ABS and ASR. ESP can make the vehicle maintain the best stability in various conditions, and the effect is more obvious in the case of oversteer or understeer. ESP generally needs to install steering sensor, wheel sensor, sideslip sensor, lateral acceleration sensor, etc.

The first company to put ESP into mass production was Bosch in Germany. Because ESP is a patented product of Bosch, only the electronic stability system of Bosch can be called esp. After Bosch, many companies have developed similar systems, such as Toyota's VSC and BMW's DSC. It includes ABS and ASR, which are the extension of these two systems.

2、 Application of ESP system. The principle of ESP is extended on the basis of ABS and ASR, which is more perfect and complementary. It is a pre-processing system, which can predict in advance to make good treatment, so as to avoid accidents.

3、 Correct use of ESP system. In general, the ESP system is turned on by default. There is a physical button on the car, which can turn off the ESP system. Why should it be turned off? Because in some special road conditions, ESP system will help.

1. When the vehicle is stuck in mud or off-road. In case of stuck car and other off-road situations, appropriate vehicle slip is needed to help out and climb. At this time, the ESP's feature of not allowing wheel slip will help. So when it comes to extreme off-road and stuck car, it's better to turn off esp.

2. When driving hard or drifting. The driving master's mastery of the car's handling limit is higher than that of ESP, so there is no esp in general racing cars. At the same time, esp doesn't let the wheel slip at all, which is goodbye to the drift. So if you want to drive hard to find stimulation or drift to play, you still need to turn off esp. But remember: fierce driving and drifting please go to the professional field, do not drag on the road!

3. When the vehicle tires are equipped with anti-skid chains. Due to the change of the wheel outer diameter and other reasons, the snow chains will interfere with the data of some sensors in the ESP system, resulting in the signal misalignment, which will affect the normal operation of the ESP system. It is possible that the ESP will continue to intervene or report the fault code, so it is better to turn off.

Another question is whether ESP affects fuel consumption. The operation of the electronic equipment on the car needs to consume energy, but the energy required by EPS is very small, and it does not need to be closed in the absence of special circumstances.
