The method of wrapping and steaming zongzi
Steamed zongzi is a famous snack in Zhaoqing. It also has its own characteristics in practice. Let's talk about the practice of steamed zongzi.
On the day before making zongzi, first wash and peel the pork, cut it into cubes, and mix in some salt, sugar, five spice powder and monosodium glutamate. Wash the mung bean, soak it overnight, rub the bean skin with your hands, then remove it with water, drain the water from the bean meat, and mix with a little crude oil and salt. Wash the glutinous rice, drain off the water, add some soy sauce, salt, sugar, gourmet powder and mix well. Cut salted egg yolk into two pieces.
Steamed zongzi is wrapped with dried lotus leaves (i.e. dried lotus leaves, washed with water first, soaked in warm water and coated with a little oil).
