How to recuperate and treat cervical spondylosis

&#Cervical spondylosis is a kind of disease based on degenerative pathological changes. It is mainly due to long-term strain of cervical spine, hyperosteogeny, or prolapse of intervertebral disc and thickening of ligaments, resulting in compression of cervical spinal cord, nerve root or vertebral artery, resulting in a series of clinical syndromes with dysfunction.

&#The treatment of cervical spondylosis can be divided into non-surgical treatment and surgical treatment. At present, for the treatment of cervical spondylosis, most medical experts advocate non-surgical treatment, only a few cases need surgical treatment. Non operative therapy is a comprehensive therapy combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine. One or two to three methods can be selected according to different situations and implemented at the same time. It is introduced as follows:

 manual massage and massage therapy

This is the main treatment of cervical spondylosis in traditional Chinese medicine, but also a more effective treatment of cervical spondylosis. Its therapeutic effect is to relieve the tension and spasm of the cervical shoulder muscle group, restore the activity of cervical vertebra, release the adhesion of nerve root and soft tissue to relieve the symptoms. In general, gravity massage and reduction are forbidden for cervical spondylotic myelopathy, otherwise, it is easy to aggravate the symptoms and even lead to paraplegia. Even if the early symptoms are not obvious, surgical treatment is generally recommended.

 cervical traction therapy

This is a more effective and widely used treatment for cervical spondylosis, which is applicable to all kinds of cervical spondylosis except spinal cord type, and more effective for early cases.

 physiotherapy

In the treatment of cervical spondylosis, physical therapy can play a variety of roles. It is generally believed that in the acute stage, it is feasible to use ion penetration, ultrasound, ultraviolet or interkinetic current; after pain relief, use ultrasound, iodine ion penetration, induction electricity or other thermotherapy.

 warm compress

This treatment can improve blood circulation, relieve muscle spasm, eliminate swelling to reduce symptoms, and help to stabilize the affected vertebra after manual treatment. Hot towel and hot water bag can be used for local external application, and the best way is to use Chinese herbal fumigation and washing formula for hot application. In acute stage, patients with severe pain should not be treated with warm compress.
