Apple's move comes at a time when the European Union's general data protection regulations (gdpr) will be officially implemented on May 25. The regulation will impose strict data privacy compliance on enterprises that collect and process personal data of EU residents around the world.
To that end, only apple IDS registered in EU countries can download the data, but Apple said it would bring the service to the global market in the next few months.
In addition, the new data and privacy site includes links that allow users to update their account details, temporarily disable their account, or permanently delete it.
