What's the price of bullet trains? Can you discount the price of bullet trains

After many years of riding high-speed rail and trains, I seldom hear that one price per day is a good idea without increasing the price. There is also a price reduction. What's the matter? Let's get to know with Xiaobian.

According to the head of relevant departments of China Railway Corporation, from April 28 to the end of the year, the price of 28 EMU trains of intercity railway will be reduced, and the discount of some routes with different forms and ranges will be as high as 20%.

Since the end of 2017, after the floating pilot of EMU train fare for 14 EMU train operation lines under the management of China Railway Administration Group Co., Ltd., a large-scale fare discount has been implemented again. At the same time, the railway department said that in the future, ticket prices will be adjusted according to market supply and demand, and "one price per day" will be gradually implemented. It is understood that on April 27, the first-class seat of d7261 train from south Guangzhou to Zhuhai is 90 yuan, and the second-class seat is 70 yuan; the first-class seat of the same train on the next day is 72 yuan, and the second-class seat is 56 yuan. The previous day's fare is full, first class and second class are 90 and 70 yuan respectively. At present, the 28 lines will only be discounted without premium.

Some analysts believe that although tickets are discounted, the total revenue of the railway will not decrease, but the overall revenue will increase. The reason is that when the tickets are discounted, there is an opportunity for passengers to increase their travel. Some passengers choose to stagger the peak train number and turn to the less compact train number. Some of the spare capacity will be transferred to those passengers who just need it. In other words, although the tickets are cheaper, there are more passengers, so the revenue will only increase.

And the dynamic ticket price is still limited, each line will be set with 'no floating day', including legal holidays and summer sports. In addition, if it is the case of ticket replacement after boarding, it will not be charged according to the floating fare. If you buy a non full fare ticket, you need to pay for the difference when you sign another ticket.

However, ticket adjustment is not all about price reduction. It is understood that the number of sleeper tickets on the Beijing Shanghai high speed railway has increased recently. The price of the original d312 train from Shanghai to Beijing is 650 yuan, and now it is 740 yuan. Experts said that since 2015, floating fare has been piloted, and its pricing is based on the analysis of railway big data. At present, the floating fares on the Beijing Shanghai line are from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, and Friday and Sunday are weekend prices. In the future, we will gradually try out "one price per day".
