Former Marseille president died at the age of 68 due to infection with COVID-19.

In April 1st, officials of the French Marseille club said the former Marseilles club president Diouf had died at the age of 68 after being infected with COVID-19.

According to Senegal state television, Papi Diouf was infected with COVID-19 last week and was admitted to intensive care unit on Saturday. He died on Tuesday.

Diouf was a Senegalese and later moved to Marseille, France to become a sports journalist. After that, he also served as a football agent. French star desaily, Gallas and Ivorian famous Drogba were all his customers.

Diouf became president of Marseille club in 2005 and left office in 2009.
