The trump building, named after US President Donald Middleton trump, caught fire for the second time in three months Wednesday, killing one resident and injuring four firefighters. Trump family was not in the building at that time.
Trump Tower has 68 floors, located in Manhattan district of New York City. It is the headquarters of trump group, where trump lived before he became president. There are also ordinary apartments and shops in the building.
The fire was put out in a short time at the 50th floor of the building, the New York Fire Department said. Videos on social media showed flames hurtling out of multiple windows of the building, sending out smoke. Several fire trucks stopped at the side of the building.
The cause of the fire is not known for the time being. Eric & middot; trump, Trump's son and senior director of the trump group, wrote on social media 'twitter' that the fire broke out in a mansion apartment.
A male resident died in the fire and his identity has yet to be confirmed.
Trump wrote on Twitter: 'the fire in Trump Tower has been put out. The fire was limited. The firemen did a good job. thank you! '
About 200 firefighters were involved in the fire fighting. Daniel middot Negro, fire chief of New York, tweeted: 'it's a very difficult fire to put out. As you can imagine, the apartment is very large and on the 50th floor. The rest of the building was shrouded in a considerable amount of smoke. '
On January 8, a fire broke out in the trump building, injuring three people, including a firefighter.
