Zhong Nanshan directed the development of a rapid detection box to observe the results of a drop of

In February 14th, the National Key Laboratory of respiratory diseases revealed that recently, under the guidance of academician Zhong Nanshan, the laboratory has jointly established a number of research institutes, and has developed a rapid detection kit for New Coronavirus IgM antibody.

It is reported that only one drop of blood can be observed visually within 15 minutes, and the positive bands can still be detected after the patient's plasma is diluted 500 to 1000 times. Compared with RT-PCR nucleic acid detection currently used for diagnosis, the kit is simpler and more efficient, with strong sensitivity and specificity. It can effectively break through the restrictions of existing detection technology on personnel and places, shorten the detection time, realize the rapid diagnosis of suspected patients and on-site screening of close contact people, and promote the forward and downward movement of diagnostic screening.

After being diluted to 1:512 times for a New Coronavirus infected person from left to right, it can still be detected by this kit.

The State Key Laboratory of respiratory diseases said that the kit was applied in a hospital in Hubei Province. By rechecking blood samples from some patients who had been diagnosed with New Coronavirus infection (but PCR negative), the kit could detect a positive part (IgM), suggesting that it could be complementary to nucleic acid detection. At the same time, in the test of more than 600 clinical samples from Hubei and Guangzhou, the positive detection rate of (IgM) of the kit has a high coincidence rate with the clinical diagnosis results.

According to reports, the kit (Scientific Research) samples have been sent to the grass-roots health institutions such as Wuhan, Huanggang, Daye and other places in Hubei province. They are combined with nucleic acid detection technology to test and evaluate New Coronavirus infection.
