Time difference in traveling abroad: how to adjust time difference

Four seas network: since one revolution of the earth equals one day, our day is at night in the United States opposite the earth. So the earth is divided into 24 time zones according to the longitude. We belong to Beijing time zone. A few decades ago, we had to cross the Pacific Ocean by boat. About a month later, people gradually adapted to different time zones on board, without discomfort. Since the invention of the long-distance airliner, it only takes more than ten hours to go to the United States. When Shanghai takes off at night, when it flies to New York at night, there will be several days of discomfort, which is called time difference reaction.

this kind of reaction is mainly insomnia at night and sleepiness during the day. In addition, there are restlessness, discomfort, less activity, cognitive impairment and gastrointestinal discomfort. In addition, there is often nonspecific fatigue, which is often caused by inactivity for a long time, irregular sleeping and eating time, dehydration, etc., and has nothing to do with time difference. With proper rest, sleep and diet, fatigue will disappear in one or two days. But the symptoms of jet lag don't disappear until the body's clock adapts to local time.

Nowadays, there are more and more people going abroad, especially because of official business. Time difference reaction will affect work. How can we reduce the response?

A few days before departure, eastbound fliers can go to bed an hour or two early every day and get a sun in the morning. The westward flier, on the other hand, stayed up for an hour or two and saw the sun in the evening. Get enough sleep a few days before you start. Don't cram for anything. Try to be more comfortable on the flight, and it's better if you can take the first-class cabin. You should drink enough water or drinks, and drink less caffeinated drinks. If necessary, you can take small doses of quick acting sleeping pills to help you fall asleep, but you can't drink with sleeping pills. Don't use long-term sleeping pills to avoid being dizzy after arriving. Get up and walk more on the plane, and move more legs to avoid deep vein thrombosis. After arriving at the destination, take a nap in the daytime if you feel sleepy, but the time should be short, 20-30 minutes is enough, so as not to affect sleep at night. Use sleeping pills to help you fall asleep in the first few days. You can drink caffeine during the day, but not after the afternoon.
