Cui Aimin, director of the Consular Department of the Ministry of foreign affairs, revealed that embassies and consulates abroad will implement the following convenience measures from February 1 this year: ① realize the "universal passport office" and further simplify the application materials to be submitted by overseas Chinese citizens when replacing and reissuing passports.
In the future, overseas Chinese citizens can apply to any of our embassies and consulates abroad for renewal of passports. ② The restrictions on overseas Chinese citizens applying for reissue of passports after their passports are lost, stolen or damaged will be lifted. No longer take staying abroad for 180 days as the restrictive condition for reissuing passports.
