In 1862, the reconstruction was completed under the design of Ronald McPherson. At that time, in order to save the cost of construction, the Colonel used Indian prisoners with special construction technology to build the church. They used the building technology adopted by Indians to mix lime, shell, sugar and protein into paste, then mixed with water and coconut shell to make gypsum material, which was applied to the appearance of the church. It is because of this special plaster that St. Andre's church is still smooth and white after a hundred years of wind and rain.
