What should be paid attention to when driving in haze

Sihaiwang: Nowadays, 'haze' has become a hot topic in the street. The bad haze weather has seriously affected the public's going out activities, especially for the majority of motorists, the haze weather leads to extremely poor road conditions, but also greatly increases the occurrence of traffic accidents. Driving in such a bad climate requires not only a good sense of coping, but also a good driving habit.

Precautions for driving in haze

In haze days, you must use anti fog lights and abide by the rules of light use: turn on the front and rear anti fog lights, tail lights, width indicator lights and low beam lights, use the lights to improve the visibility, see clearly the vehicles ahead, pedestrians and road conditions, and let others easily see yourself. Don't turn on the high beam. Because the high beam is up, the light emitted will be reflected by the fog, forming a white area in front of the car, and the driver can't see anything.

Never drive fast. The greater the fog, the shorter the visible distance, and the lower the vehicle speed. When the visibility is less than 200m and more than 100m, the speed shall not exceed 60km; when the visibility is less than 100m and more than 50m, the speed shall not exceed 40km; when the visibility is within 30m, the speed shall be controlled below 20km.

If you find that the vehicle ahead is parked on the right side, do not overtake blindly, because it is likely to let the opposite vehicle pass. When overtaking the parked vehicles on the roadside, after confirming that they have no intention to start and there is no coming vehicle on the opposite side, honk the horn in time to bypass from the left side at a low speed. In addition, it is not allowed to drive on line in foggy days, otherwise there will be a risk of collision with the opposite vehicle. Don't step on the accelerator or release it quickly, or brake and turn the steering wheel in an emergency. If you think it is necessary to reduce the speed, first slowly release the accelerator, and then gently press the brake several times in succession to control the speed and prevent the rear end collision.

Safety principle of driving in haze

Principle 1: maintain a relatively low speed

When driving in fog, strictly abide by the traffic rules and speed limit. Never drive fast. The greater the fog, the shorter the visible distance, and the lower the speed must be. When the visibility is less than 200m and more than 100m, the speed shall not exceed 60km / h; when the visibility is less than 100m and more than 50m, the speed shall not exceed 40km / h; when the visibility is less than 30m, the speed shall be controlled below 20km / h; if the visibility is less than 10m, it is recommended to stop at the roadside, and pay attention to find an absolutely safe place to stop.

Principle 2: correct use of lights

When driving in haze, you'd better turn on all kinds of lights (except for high beam lights), which can remind the vehicle behind you of your position. If driving on the highway or when the fog is very thick, turn on the double flashing lights. Don't use the high beam in foggy days, because the high beam is shining upward. The light emitted is diffusely reflected by the fog, which will form a white area in front of the car. When driving, nothing can be seen.

Principle 3: choose the outside of two lanes and the middle of three lanes

In foggy days, the line of sight is poor, so when driving, if it's one-way three lanes, it's better to drive in the middle of the road rather than on both sides of the road. Because of the low visibility at this time, it is not easy to deal with any situation on both sides of the road. So it's better to drive in the middle of the road!

Principle 4: do not slam on the brake

Don't slam on the brakes because you can't tell the distance between cars in fog. If you slam on the brakes, it will make the rear car unable to judge the distance and cause rear end collision. Of course, the best way to avoid emergency braking is to slow down and have a long distance from the car in front. If emergency braking is needed in front of you, you can gently press the brake several times in succession to control the vehicle speed and effectively remind the car behind you.

Principle 5: use all equipment to get rid of the fog in the car

I don't know if you have noticed. As soon as there is fog production outside, there is also fog in the car. Therefore, it's better to turn on the rear window defog and rear-view mirror defog functions when they are formed, and turn the air outlet towards the front windshield, and use all methods to reduce the generation of fog in the car.
