How to introduce yourself during an interview

4hw.com.cn: the first question that every interviewee faces may be to introduce himself. Self introduction is not only about whether one's resume is wonderful, but also about whether one is confident and able to express himself. Only by introducing himself can he win the favor of the interviewers. So how to introduce himself in the interview? What are the tips? Let's have a look.

How to introduce yourself during an interview

Self introduction is the first contact between the interviewer and the interviewer. From the perspective of Psychology:

(1) if the interviewer is impressed by the self introduction, he / she will recognize you as an excellent candidate. In the next interview, the interviewer will try to find out from your answers the basis that can prove his point of view (you are a good candidate).

The interviewer's key point is to tap your flash point

(2) if the self introduction leaves a bad impression on the interviewer, he / she thinks you are a mediocre job seeker. In the next interview, the interviewer will try to find out the basis of your answer that can prove his point of view (you are a mediocre job seeker).

The interviewer's point is to find fault

So self introduction is like the beginning of chess. It starts well, and the next interview will be more smooth.

Preparation before self introduction

No matter which company should be interviewed, self introduction should answer the following three questions in essence:

1. Who are you (character + advantage)

You may have n personality characteristics and advantages, but you only need to list the personality characteristics (e.g. Danone likes not too strong, more team player) and advantages (e.g. P & G likes people with leadership) of the company you are interviewing. Remember: always sell your selling points around what your sales target (interviewer, company, position) values.

2. Why are you suitable for this company?

Understand the culture of the company you are applying for, your reputation in the industry, organizational structure, etc. Then connect with your values, personal interests, etc., and list common points.

3. Why are you suitable for this position?

Analyze the job description of the position you are applying for and what competency requirements it has. Then make a list of your education background, work experience and school community experience to see which match the job description. In the same way, you may have n work or community experiences, but only those related to the company and position you are interviewing.

Key point: you can write the most detailed version when you are preparing to introduce yourself (list all your personality characteristics, advantages, work experience and community experience, and then reduce them to one minute or two minute version according to the requirements of different companies before preparing for the interview)

Tip: if it's a one-to-one interview, self introduction can last up to 2 minutes. If it's a group interview, hardy suggests that self introduction be controlled within 1 minute.
