Silk clothes are also very delicate, so daily care is very important. How to maintain silk clothes? Let's take a look at the daily maintenance techniques of silk clothes.

How to maintain silk clothes

1. Wearing and maintenance

Don't sleep on mats, cane chairs or planks. Because the silk fiber is relatively thin and can't stand excessive friction, it's better not to scratch the clothes. Because the long fiber cohesion of silk fabric is not as good as that of other blended fiber fabrics, it's easy to cause merging due to external force, also known as arranging and wrapping. Do not spray deodorant or perfume, do not place camphor pills. Because these are all chemical clothes, it is easy to damage silk, especially white silk. If you touch them, the fabric will turn yellow. When wearing silk skirts and trousers, special attention should be paid not to ride bicycles to prevent severe friction between fabrics and seat cushions, resulting in turnover and displacement of silk. It's not suitable to wear silk clothes when you sweat a lot.

2. Preserve silk clothing

To preserve silk clothing, thin underwear, shirts, trousers, skirts, pajamas, etc. should be washed, ironed and then collected. For autumn and winter clothes, coats and cheongsam that are inconvenient to be removed and cleaned, dry cleaning method shall be used to wash and iron them until they are smooth, so as to prevent mildew and decay. After ironing, it can also play the role of sterilization and disinfestation. At the same time, the boxes and cabinets for storing clothes shall be kept clean and sealed as much as possible to prevent dust pollution.

(1) silk clothing has strong hygroscopicity. When not wearing it, it is better to hang it with a hanger and keep it ventilated. Do not store the silk clothing in a damp or direct light place, so as to avoid mildew and fading.

(2) iron hanger shall not be used for storage to prevent rust pollution, and it shall not be stored together with articles easy to fade or dye.

(3) pay attention to the clothes damaged by hanger hook 2 during storage.

(4) it is better to hang and store the silk clothing in dry condition. The insect repellent must be wrapped with cloth, and do not touch the clothing directly.

(5) hang the clothes in the dark place to prevent the fabric from yellowing due to direct light.

(6) it needs frequent ventilation and should not be placed in plastic bags for a long time.

(7) when white and light colored silk are placed at the same time, it is better to separate them with 'safe' articles.

(8) for the clothing made of the combination of georgette and double wrinkled fabric, it is not suitable to hang it for a long time. Because of the self weight damage, the clothing will be stretched longer and longer, which will cause the deformation of the clothing. When it is stored, it should be lined with cloth and placed on the top of the cabinet to avoid wrinkles.

(9) silk clothes should not be placed together with tussah silk clothes, because the raw materials of tussah silk clothes are mostly fumigated with sulfur, which will make the silk clothes discolored.

(10) avoid desiccant, cosmetics, perfume and other directly stained silk clothing. If it is accidentally contaminated, it should be cleaned in time, otherwise it will turn yellow or black.

3. Ironing silk clothing

When ironing silk clothing, the wrinkle resistance of silk clothing is slightly worse than that of chemical fiber, so there is a saying that "wrinkle free is not real silk". If the clothes are wrinkled after washing, they need ironing to be crisp, elegant and beautiful. When ironing, dry the clothes to 70% dry and spray water evenly. Wait for 3-5 minutes to iron again. The ironing temperature should be controlled between 130 ℃ and 140 ℃. The iron should not directly touch the silk surface to avoid aurora. It must be covered with a layer of wet cloth and then ironed to prevent the silk from being brittle or even burnt due to high temperature. Pay attention to ironing should not be high temperature, not directly ironing.
