Russian satellite news agency reported on the 12th that the United States has completed the construction of a new 100 mile (about 160 km) long separation wall on the Mexican border. US President trump praised it as a "powerful" wall on social media on the 11th and named it after himself.

Trump posted a photo of the separation wall on twitter with an accompanying article: the powerful 'trump wall' is replacing the useless and ineffective separation barriers of the border patrol. The number of illegal border crossings is declining because more and more walls are being completed!

The US "Capitol Hill" reported on November 11 that while trump named the border wall after himself, he proudly said, "the more walls are built, the less illegal border crossing!"

According to CNN on the 8th, a federal appeals court in the United States allowed the trump government to "misappropriate" part of the funds of the Department of defense to build the border wall, and released at least $3.6 billion in military funds for the construction of a new border wall.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced on the 10th that the first 100 mile border wall in Arizona was officially completed. Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Wolff said: "this is a milestone achievement for president trump, the US government and, more importantly, our country."

According to Wolff, most of the 100 mile new wall has replaced the previous isolation barrier. The trump administration hopes to build a three fold barrier by the end of this year, with a target of 450 miles.

Russian media said that trump had repeatedly described the issue of immigration along the US Mexico border as a crisis, and the construction of the border separation wall was one of his campaign slogans in 2016. In the three years since taking office, trump has encountered a series of challenges on the border wall. As the US election approaches, Trump's key campaign commitments will become more urgent.

The New York Times commented that although the actual progress in building the border wall fell behind the commitments, the two decisions boosted the confidence of the trump administration. However, this is only a temporary victory, and the legal struggle around the border wall is not expected to end.
