Since 2020, Palau has banned sunscreen, and four countries have issued sunscreen bans

According to the BBC, from January 1, 2020, Palau, a Pacific country, banned the use and sale of sunscreen containing common ingredients such as oxybenzophenone in that country.

President Palau said that these sunscreens will cause damage to coral reefs, fish stocks and oceans. So far, at least four countries or regions in the world have issued sunscreen bans.

But experts say that although sunscreens are reduced, about half of the cream and lotion contain similar toxic ingredients.
