197 higher vocational schools were selected from the list of double high plan schools

The Ministry of education and the Ministry of finance today officially announced the list of construction plans for high-level higher vocational schools and high-level majors with Chinese characteristics, referred to as the "double high plan", which is an important system design in the field of vocational education after China's "double first-class" general higher education.

A total of 197 higher vocational schools were selected into this batch of "double high plan", of which 56 higher vocational schools were selected into the construction of high-level schools and 141 higher vocational schools were selected into the construction of high-level professional groups. " The purpose of the "double high plan" is to support the priority development of Higher Vocational Colleges and majors with good basic conditions, lead vocational education to serve the national strategy, integrate into regional development, promote industrial upgrading, and finally create a number of vocational education "sample houses" that are inseparable from the local, recognized by the industry and can be exchanged internationally.

It is understood that the construction of the "double high plan" has a support cycle every five years, and more than 2 billion will be invested every year. After five years, the assessment will be carried out to achieve both in and out and the survival of the fittest. The funds will focus on teaching reform, curriculum standard research and development, teacher team construction and other aspects to improve the overall connotation of vocational education.

In addition, the "double high plan" also provides a timetable for benchmarking with the national vocational education reform and China's education modernization, and proposes that by 2022, the school running level, service ability and international influence of a number of higher vocational schools and professional groups will be significantly improved, forming a number of policies, systems and standards that effectively support the high-quality development of vocational education; By 2035, a number of higher vocational schools and professional groups will reach the international advanced level, and the policies, systems and standard systems for the high-quality development of vocational education will be more mature and perfect, forming a development model of vocational education with Chinese characteristics.
