All 13 people trapped in Sichuan coal mine accident were rescued, and all 13 trapped people in Yibin

At about 6:00 on December 18, 13 trapped miners in the '12.14' flooding accident of Shanmushu Coal Mine of Sichuan coal group went up one after another, and everyone was alive! After more than 80 hours trapped 313 meters underground, 13 coal miners in Sichuan miraculously survived after unremitting rescue on the morning of the 18th.

At 15:26 on the 14th, a flooding accident occurred in Shanmushu Coal Mine of Sichuan coal group, located in Xunchang Town, Gong county, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, killing 5 people and losing 13 contacts.

The underground water level drops gradually. At 3:00 on the 18th, a miner waded out of the trapped roadway, met with the underground rescue team, and reported that the remaining 12 people confirmed their safety. At 5:55, the first two trapped people were rescued from more than 300 meters underground.

The 14 ambulances and 62 medical and nursing personnel waiting at the scene of the accident were quickly put into treatment, and the medical mechanism of "one treatment team is responsible for one patient" was started.

At 7:56 on the 18th, after more than 80 hours of intense rescue, all 13 trapped people went up the well safely. There were bursts of applause from the waiting crowd at the rescue site and cheers from the rescue headquarters. Duan Yijun, director of Sichuan emergency management department, finally left the big screen he had been staring at: "this is a miracle of life created by the linkage of ministry, provincial and municipal levels and all support forces!"

The accident happened 10 kilometers away from the entrance of the cave. Rescue workers need to walk underground for about two hours to arrive.

Rescue experts said that the rescue needs to overcome multiple difficulties: the roadway system is long and the hydrogeological conditions are very complex; The power supply, communication, ventilation and other systems of the mine are damaged; Drainage is difficult and there is a risk of gas emission.

After the flooding accident on the 14th, the search and rescue was started at the first time. The main person in charge of Sichuan provincial government went to the site to organize rescue, and the emergency management department also sent a working group to the site for guidance. 13 professional rescue teams with a total of 251 people rushed to the rescue site, and the rescue personnel entered the underground in turns in echelons to carry out search, drainage, desilting, ventilation and other work.

Improving the drainage capacity is the biggest problem of the rescue: at first, the underground water level rose 445mm per hour, and the water level elevation increased continuously, reaching 138 meters at the highest, 8 meters higher than the roadway opening where the trapped people are located. The headquarters quickly commanded to block the permeable points, repair the damaged cables and ventilation system, and continuously mobilize large displacement water pumps for drainage.

"The place with the deepest water in the roadway reaches the waist. With about 20kg of equipment, it is very difficult to walk." Li Shunbin, leader of the first squadron of the national rescue Furong team, who went down the well twice, told reporters. Finally, the rescuers confirmed that some trapped people were still alive by knocking on the steel pipe and receiving an echo. Source: Xinhua News Agency
