Original title: Global gender gap report: Japan's gender equality ranking fell to the lowest in history

Dec. 17 - according to Japanese media reports, on the 17th, the world economic forum released the 'global gender gap report'. Among all 153 countries, Japan ranked 121, ranking the last among developed countries.

It is reported that the report is based on the data of 14 projects in the four aspects of economy, education, health and politics to obtain the ranking of gender gap index, so as to measure the degree of gender equality.

According to the report, Japan ranked 114th in 2017; It rose slightly to 110 in 2018; This year, it fell to the lowest 121 in history. At the bottom of the 'group of seven', it is far lower than Italy, which ranks 76th.

According to the analysis, the main reason for Japan's low ranking is that the country's economic and political scores are obviously low. From the data of 2019, Japan's economy and politics rank 115th and 114th respectively. In addition, the ranking of education in 2019 also dropped sharply from 65 in 2018 to 91.

Although Japan ranks high in education and health, other countries generally score high in these two aspects, so it is not very helpful to Japan's overall ranking.

It is understood that the top three in this score are Iceland, Finland and Norway.
