Among India's luckiest people, the $800000 prize also excavated a large number of gold coins

An Indian man dug up a pile of 100 year old antique coins after winning the lottery and winning more than $800000.

It is reported that Pillay was previously the operator of a sawmill. In January 2018, he won 6 million rupees (about US $842000) in a lottery. He used part of his bonus to buy land in his hometown, kilimanoor, Kerala, India.

The land is located next to an ancient Krishna temple. Pillay harvested not only the vegetables he needed, but also a jar containing more than 2500 coins when he cultivated the land.

On closer inspection, he found that the coins came from the kingdom of Travancore, which no longer existed.

These coins weigh more than 20 kilograms and are made of silver, copper and gold. It is reported that they have a history of about 100 years. This currency was used before India introduced the rupy paise system in 1949.

Pillay quickly informed officials of his amazing discovery. The treasure will be sent to the laboratory for cleaning because most coins turn green due to oxidation. The panel will assess its value.

It is reported that the Indian government plans to reward the ancient coins handed over by Pillay.
