Indoor placement of flowers has many advantages, but flowers are not easy to preserve, so how to prolong the life of flowers in bottles? Let's take a look at the tips and precautions for keeping flowers.

How to prolong the life of flowers in bottles

1. Picking flowers in the morning

The best time to pick flowers is when the dew is not dry in the morning. After the flower branches are cut, they should be immersed in warm water immediately to stimulate the fiber tube to open and absorb water fully to avoid drying.

2. The more oblique the incision, the better

Cut the flower branches, and the more oblique the incision, the better. Large woody plants such as black pine and Rhododendron can also cut the epidermis about 3cm at the incision and crack it slightly with a hammer to enhance its water absorption function.

3. Water flower cutting

The flower cutting shall be carried out in water to avoid air entering the water absorption pores of the branches and affecting the water absorption.

4. The epidermis was cut off by 6 mm

Cut off the epidermis of the stem end of the flowers inserted in the vase by about 6mm and apply vaseline to prolong the flowering period.

5. Flower branches vary in length

Chrysanthemum, Christmas flower, orchid and other flowers with strong water absorption capacity can have longer branches, and the branches with weak water absorption capacity should be shorter. The closer to the water, the better.

6. Burning

The cut of woody flower stems can be burned for several minutes, or put some salt on the cut to prevent premature decay of the cut.

7. Aspirin

Putting an aspirin tablet in the bottle can prolong the life of the bottle flower.

8. Vinegar

If the stem end of the flower branch is soaked in vinegar for a while and then inserted in a bottle, the flowering period can be prolonged. Adding a few drops of vinegar to the vase can make the flowers absorb water easily and keep alive for a long time. Vinegar also has the effect of sterilization.

9. Bundle up

Flowers with large flowers and thin stems shall be tied into bundles with waste short branches and then inserted into bottles.

10. Change water frequently

Change the water frequently, preferably once a day. The water should be changed at night. If you move the vase to a cool place outside every night to absorb dew, you can see that the vase will restore its original bright color the next morning.

11. Sun in the morning

After the flowers are bottled, if they are irradiated with weak light for 1 hour in the morning, it will help to keep the flowers bright.

12. Remove adhesion

When changing water, remove the adhesion on the flower branch incision.

13. Use ice

In midsummer, if you put some ice in the vase, you can keep the leaves on the flower branches green.
