On May 5, on the 34th International Volunteer Day, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Winter Olympic Games issued a global announcement on the recruitment of volunteers for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games and the winter Paralympic Games, which officially kicked off the recruitment of volunteers for the games.
Han Zirong, the full-time vice chairman and Secretary General of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, issued a global announcement on the recruitment of volunteers for the games. She introduced the recruitment quantity, registration conditions and basic procedures, and warmly welcomed people from all walks of life at home and abroad to participate in and contribute to the winter Olympics.
It is understood that the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee plans to recruit 27000 volunteers for the Winter Olympic Games and 12000 volunteers for the winter Paralympic Games. The competition volunteers will be distributed in the three competition areas of Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou and other places and facilities, and participate in 12 types of voluntary services such as international liaison, competition organization and venue operation.
The competition volunteers are divided into general competition volunteers and professional competition volunteers. Among them, professional competition volunteers refer to competition volunteers who have the professional knowledge, skills and experience required for competition volunteer services and can provide professional services, including but not limited to language services, medical services, driving services, etc. All volunteers other than professional competition volunteers are general competition volunteers.
Cai Qi, Secretary of Beijing Municipal Party committee and chairman of Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, and volunteer representatives jointly launched the global volunteer recruitment network system for the games. At the moment when the system went online, the hearts of volunteers all over the world were connected by the network.
Li Ju, the volunteer representative, once received flowers from representatives of IOC members at the closing ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. She said that the 2008 Olympic Games left a valuable legacy. After 11 years, Winter Olympic volunteers will interpret the spirit of volunteer service with smile and dedication and create the most beautiful scenery in Beijing 2022.
