According to the official microblog of the national network and information security information notification center, since November 2019, the Ministry of public security has strengthened its efforts to crack down on and punish the crimes of infringing on citizens' personal information, organized the centralized rectification of APP illegal collection of personal information, and intensively investigated and rectified 100 illegal apps and their Internet enterprises.
This centralized rectification, focusing on the absence of privacy agreement, unclear description of the scope of collection and use of personal information, over range collection of personal information and unnecessary collection of personal information, ordered 27 items to be rectified within a time limit, 63 items to be warned and 10 items to be fined. Another 2 items were established as criminal cases for investigation, and the relevant cases are under investigation.
Since this year, the Ministry of public security has organized the special action of "net 2019", and 683 apps that collect personal information in violation of laws and regulations have been investigated and dealt with in accordance with the law. In the next step, the public security organs will insist on promoting management and construction by fighting, continue to deeply promote the centralized rectification of app's illegal collection and use of personal information, resolutely investigate, deal with and rectify the cases found, severely crack down on illegal and criminal activities infringing on citizens' personal information according to law, spare no effort to remove the chaos of personal information black and gray products, and effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
