Fuzhou firefighter Zhang Weijie died unfortunately in the process of searching and rescuing the masses. The Beijing News reporter learned from the Fuzhou fire rescue detachment that the farewell ceremony of Zhang Weijie's body was held today (November 27), and nearly 1000 local people spontaneously went to the Fuzhou funeral home to see him off.

It is reported that at 5:12 on November 25, the command center of Fuzhou fire rescue detachment received an alarm, and a fire broke out in the house at No. 25, Gaishan Yexia village, Cangshan District. After receiving the alarm, the detachment dispatched 7 fire engines from the third and fourth squadrons of the special service brigade, and nearly 50 fire commanders and fighters rushed to the scene to put out the fire. At 7:29, the fire was put out, and one crowd was trapped according to the on-site feedback.

During the search and rescue, the burning building suddenly collapsed, resulting in the pressure of trapped people and class III firefighter Zhang Weijie of the fourth squadron of the secret service brigade. At 8:30, the trapped people were rescued. At 9:58, Zhang Weijie was rescued and died after rescue.

It is understood that Zhang Weijie was born in April 1993 in Yongchun, Fujian Province. He joined the army in December 2011 and has participated in more than 1200 fire fighting and rescue operations, evacuating and rescuing more than 300 people. Zhang Weijie has also participated in more than 80 major events such as the "Digital China" summit, the maritime trade fair and the 70th anniversary of the founding of new China. He has been rewarded and rated as an "excellent soldier" seven times. On November 26, Zhang Weijie was approved as a martyr.
