It is reported that Kyoto animation plans to complete the construction of scaffolding required for the demolition project and the cleaning of residual items in the building before 2020. The demolition of the building itself will be carried out from January to April 2020.
On the other hand, there is no definite plan for what the land will be used after the studio is demolished.
On October 18, Yingming octada, President of Kyoto animation, expressed his willingness to demolish the building at a press conference. At that time, he told reporters, 'it's really painful to see such an important building become what it is now'.
In July this year, the first studio of Kyoto animation was maliciously set on fire in Fuji District, Kyoto City, Japan. The fire engulfed the whole building, resulting in 36 deaths and 33 injuries.
