It is located at 39 degrees north latitude. With appropriate water temperature and rich nutrients, it is recognized as a sea area suitable for the survival of seafood in the world. However, due to the frequent disaster of scallops in recent years, scallop fishing vessels in Zhangzi Island also began to be idle and sold. According to the staff of the wharf, there are many fewer scallop fishing vessels docked on the shore than in the previous two years.
It is understood that the culture of shrimp scallop is divided into floating raft and bottom sowing. The scallop killed in Zhangzidao group is mainly bottom sowing culture. At present, in Changhai County, the floating raft culture area of shrimp and scallop is as high as more than 300000 mu, and the bottom sowing culture area is nearly 5 million mu. Experts believe that at present, the total amount of breeding scale is too large, and partially exceeding the breeding capacity is one of the reasons for the frequent and large-area death of scallops. The bottom sowing shrimp and scallop farming in Zhangzi Island began in 1988. In 1997, the scale of the company's bottom sowing shrimp and scallop exceeded 100000 mu. After that, the right confirmation area of Zhangzi Island Marine ranch and scallop bottom sowing area expanded rapidly. Around 2011, the right confirmation area of marine ranch increased to more than 3 million mu, while the scallop bottom sowing area reached about 1.2 million mu. Since 2014, scallops have had frequent accidents. At present, Zhangzi Island is ready to give up part of the sea area to confirm its rights.
