Recently, we received a report from the audience in Yangchun City, Yangjiang, saying that the only bridge they traveled in several villages sank about one meter in the middle of the bridge due to the typhoon last year. But for more than a year, the bridge has not been repaired. Villagers in several villages risk crossing the bridge every day.
There is a Zhudong bridge across the Xishan river at the San'an village committee of Yongning Town, Yangchun City. It is about 80m long and 3.5m wide. It is not only the main channel for people on both sides of the Strait, but also the only channel for hundreds of people from the three villagers' groups on the East bank, Zhudong, Shangdong and Xiadong.
The villagers of Zhudong village, San'an village committee, Yongning Town, Yangchun City said: This is the only way to go. Other roads can't go to Yongning. You must pass here.
Last September, affected by typhoon 'Shanzhu', the flood caused serious damage to Zhudong bridge, in which the middle pier sank seriously, the bridge deck also sank, and the bridge deck became V-shaped. The villagers have repeatedly reported to the town government, but the bridge has not been repaired.
The villagers do not know how dangerous the bridge is, but it is always necessary to travel every day. The villagers can only risk passing through the bridge. At the bridge head, only villagers built stone piers to restrict the passage of cars, but there were no warning or traffic restriction signs. The villagers said that the car could not cross the bridge, and the transportation of crops and agricultural materials was very inconvenient. They were transported by motorcycle, package by package.
What worries the villagers most is that children in several villages have to pass through this bridge to go to school. In case of an accident, the consequences will be unimaginable.
Villagers said that the bridge has been built for more than 20 years. Now it is seriously damaged and needs to be repaired, but the problem cannot be solved by relying on the villagers' own strength.
