Qatar is the host of the 2022 World Cup. Hosting the World Club Cup can test Qatar's ability to host competitions. As the Champions League champion in 2019, Liverpool will participate this year.
In the past 12 world club cups, the Champions League champion won the championship 11 times. Only Chelsea overturned in 2012. They lost to Corinthian, the South American liberators cup champion in the final.
According to previous news, due to the limited quality of the current competition system and insufficient attraction and attention, the World Club Cup will be reformed from 2021 to 24 teams competing for the championship, including 12 European giants. The competition time is no longer December, but June.
