What if the sweater shrinks? How does the winter sweater shrink?

Sweater is one of our necessary clothes, but we often encounter the problem of shrinking sweater. The light and warm sweater in winter is the favorite of many people, but what you don't know is that if the sweater is not cleaned properly, it will shrink easily. Follow the small knitting to have a look.

Don't worry. Here are some tips for shrinking sweaters:

The first is:

For sweaters with serious shrinkage, it is advisable to steam them in a steamer, and then stretch them while they are hot, so that they can be restored to their original size. This is because wool fiber has the characteristics of thermal plasticity, that is to say, in a certain humidity and temperature, wool is easy to change the shape, after cooling, it can remain unchanged. Therefore, we can use the function of hot steam to open the scales of wool fiber, restore the original elasticity and fluffy, and then stretch properly to restore the sweater to its original state.

The specific methods are as follows: first, add shampoo into a basin of warm water at about 30 ℃, wash the sweater, wrap it with cloth, and then dehydrate; take a household steamer, and wipe the steamer drawer and cover with detergent to remove oil stains. Add some water into the steamer and boil it. Fold the cleaned sweater and put it into the steamer drawer. After steaming for about 10 minutes, stop fire. Put on thick gloves and take out the sweater. Cut a piece of thick cardboard (including two sleeves) of the same size as the original sweater. Stick a rubber strip on the cutting mouth to avoid damaging the clothes. Then put the sweater on the thick cardboard and pull the corners, neckline and cuffs into thick paper Board size, and fixed with pin or clip, individual parts can be stretched by hand. After cooling completely, remove the cardboard and spread the sweater flat and dry in the shade. It should be noted that before stretching, the length of the sweater and the proportion of the length of each part should be well known, and it is not allowed to stretch too much at one time. Measure the total length with a ruler after all drawing is completed. If the length is not enough, repeat.

Second species:

Pour warm water into the basin, drop a small amount of domestic amonia water, then dip the sweater into it, and the soap left on the wool will melt. Lengthen the reduced part with both hands at the same time, and then wash the water to dry. When it's half dry, first pull it out by hand, straighten out the original shape, and then press it with an iron to restore the original size.

Third species:

Use thick cardboard (cardboard of household appliance packing box) to cut the size and shape of the original sweater. The cutting should be polished with sandpaper to avoid damaging the sweater. Put the sweater on the cardboard, fix it with several clothes drying clips at the lower foot, and then use the electric iron to repeatedly steam iron all parts of the sweater, and take it off after it is completely cooled. Steam the cleaned sweater in the steamer for about 15 minutes, then take it out and pull it to the original size by hand, and put it on the table to dry naturally. Saving money doesn't hurt sweaters.

How to prevent sweaters from shrinking:

The water temperature should be about 35 ℃, and the detergent should be washed with high-grade neutral detergent. The detergent should not be put too little, or it will not be washed clean and shrink easily. The ratio of water to detergent is 3:1. Do not use washing machine. After washing, press with dry cloth.

How to renovate a sweater:

The sweater is shortened and hardened. You can wrap it up with a clean white cloth, put it into a steamer and steam it for ten minutes. After taking it out, shake it slightly, loosen the fiber, and then carefully pull it to the original shape and size, lay it flat on the sheet or the back of the sieve, dry it in a ventilated place, and then it will return to its original state.

Wool or wool fabrics will gradually lose their original luster if they are washed several times with clear water, and then add a few drops of vinegar in the clear water to continue to bleach, neutralizing the acidity and alkalinity, wool and wool fabrics will restore their original luster.
