An 84 year old woman living in catancharo, Calabria, Italy, disguised herself as blind for 21 years in order to obtain social subsidies for the disabled, and was found by the police, EURONET quoted the European Union News Agency as reporting. The procuratorial organ then filed a lawsuit to the court, which frozen the elderly's assets of 263000 euros.
It is reported that after investigation, the police found that the old woman has pretended to be blind since 1998, cheated the inspection of the hospital and received social subsidies for the disabled as a blind person for 21 years. According to the survey, the elderly have received more than 200000 euros of national disability allowance.
