The slogan of the volunteers of the Wuhan military games was released. On May 12, the Executive Committee of the Wuhan military games announced that the volunteers of the military games will take "little Metasequoia" as their nickname from now on, and their unified slogan is "gather volunteer forces and create brilliant military games".
It is estimated that 250000 volunteers will be recruited for the military games, including 50000 competition volunteers and 200000 urban volunteers. Li Hailin, Vice Minister of the Volunteer Department of the Executive Committee of the military games, introduced that giving a unified nickname and action slogan is the common practice of carrying out volunteer service in large-scale activities. Last October, the Executive Committee of the military games solicited volunteers' slogans and nicknames from all over the country. In 20 days, it received 2374 entries from more than 2100 people across the country, including 1197 slogans and 1177 nicknames. The above scheme is finally selected after expert review, publicity, submission for approval and other procedures.
It is reported that the nickname 'small Metasequoia', named after the unique Chinese species Metasequoia, symbolizes the upright posture of soldiers. Metasequoia also has the characteristics of strong environmental adaptability, which can reflect the spirit of hard-working, unity and cooperation of volunteers.
