West Lake fishing has won the national patent and self-developed fishing artifact to serve tourists

This National Day holiday, Zhou Xiangjun is still busy by the West Lake. The difference is that this time 'Laoge' took an apprentice. He is about to retire after working in Hangzhou West Lake water police station for many years. Zhou Xiangjun told the Beijing Youth Daily that he wanted to teach his disciples the experience he had accumulated over the years, hoping that they could pass on the spirit of "brother Lao" and serve more tourists.

A busy holiday

Fishing more than 20 mobile phones in 6 days with apprentices to teach experience

Since taking up his post on October 1, Zhou Xiangjun, a 59 year old 'brother fishing in the West Lake', has not returned home for a day. He patrols the scenic spot during the day and returns to the office for duty at night. This National Day holiday, like the past 18 years, he stuck to his job and dealt with various problems encountered by tourists in the scenic spot. The old bank 'fishing for mobile phones' also failed. Six days before the holiday, he and his colleagues fished out more than 20 mobile phones.

This time, 'brother Lao' not only fished by himself, but also took an apprentice and taught them his more than ten years of work experience. Zhou Xiangjun's apprentice was a policewoman surnamed Wang. On the 6th, she looked at the master and found it very easy to salvage. Xiao Wang also wanted to try and boasted 'Haikou' with Zhou Xiangjun: 'it looks easy. Master, let me come.'

Zhou Xiangjun also set rules for his disciples. They are not allowed to eat lunch until they are picked up. Finally, it took Xiao Wang an hour and a half to pick up the mobile phone dropped by a tourist. At the moment when the mobile phone was salvaged, she told Zhou Xiangjun that it was not easy to salvage the mobile phone. Her arm and neck also hurt. Another female apprentice who had been fishing for a mobile phone with Zhou Xiangjun said that her arm was too sore to lift in just one day.

For more than ten years, Zhou Xiangjun has been serving tourists by the West Lake. It is conceivable that Zhou Xiangjun has worked hard. He will retire next year. He also wants to use this time to teach his disciples the experience accumulated over the years, so that they can better serve tourists and inherit the spirit of "Laoge". In the future, if tourists accidentally drop their mobile phone into the West Lake, they will not necessarily come to Laoge, but also 'Laomei'.

Work and study

Develop 'salvage artifact' to serve tourists and avoid danger

In his early years, when salvaging items dropped by tourists in the West Lake, Zhou Xiangjun often personally jumped into the lake and salvaged either hands or feet. From the perspective of self-protection, Zhou Xiangjun does not advocate police fishing, which is very dangerous.

Zhou Xiangjun, who likes to study, thought, why can't he invent a fishing rod that can be salvaged without launching? After continuous attempts, Zhou Xiangjun's "fishing artifact" has evolved to the sixth generation, of which the first three generations have obtained national patents.

Zhou Xiangjun told the Beiqing daily that several of his disciples also like to study. Now several teachers and disciples are improving the sixth generation 'salvage artifact'. In order to cope with the characteristics of different items and the use habits of different fishers, Zhou Xiangjun plans to make a fishing rod with "one rod and three uses", that is, the same rod can not only absorb, clamp, but also hook, and multi pipe in order to fish more efficiently.

Retirement without leaving post

I hope I can spend more time with my family and take off my police uniform. Brother Lao is still there

Before this year's national day, in order to take care of Zhou Xiangjun, who was ill and hospitalized, his lover accidentally fell and fractured. But national day was Zhou Xiangjun's busiest time. He had no time to take care of his wife, so he had to send her back to his hometown.

Zhou Xiangjun told the Beiqing daily that many relatives and friends blame him for being busy with his work and not coming to the agreed party. Often at this time, Zhou Xiangjun can only comfort his relatives and friends. He really can't take away his job responsibilities.

In November next year, Zhou Xiangjun will retire. Talking about retirement life, he said that he should take his parents out to travel first to meet the wishes of the two elders.

After serving the West Lake for nearly 20 years, Zhou Xiangjun is most reluctant to give up the West Lake and Chinese and foreign tourists from afar. In August this year, Zhou Xiangjun helped a foreign expert find his mobile phone, and the other party also sent him a banner in English.

After retirement, Zhou Xiangjun said that if his body allows and organizations and tourists need him, he will still return to the West Lake. Although he took off his police uniform at that time, he will still be at his post.
