Calculation method of national day overtime salary
National Day is approaching, and some people continue to stick to their posts. According to regulations, if you work overtime three days before the national day, you should be paid not less than three times your salary. Earn overtime or leave, how do you choose this year's National Day?
Earn 40% more monthly salary for working overtime for 3 days
According to the arrangement, this year's national day will be off from October 1 to 7, a total of 7 days. Work on September 29 (Sunday) and October 12 (Saturday). Among them, October 1, 2 and 3 are legal holidays, and October 4, 5, 6 and 7 are rest days.
According to regulations, if workers are arranged to work on rest days and cannot arrange compensatory leave, they shall pay not less than 200% of their wages; If workers are arranged to work on legal holidays, they shall pay no less than 300% of their wages.
In other words, overtime pay is calculated as 3 times the daily salary for the first 3 days of the National Day holiday and 2 times the daily salary for the next 4 days. It is worth noting that whether it is 3 times or 2 times the overtime pay, the employer needs to pay separately after paying the worker's monthly salary.
For example, assuming that the monthly salary of an employee is 6000 yuan and the monthly salary days specified by the human resources and social security department are 21.75 days, the monthly salary of an employee is 275.86 yuan. If Xiaohong works overtime three days before the national day, she will get a total overtime pay of 2482.74 yuan, more than 40% of her monthly salary; If Xiaohong works overtime for 7 days, she will receive an overtime pay of 4689.62 yuan, close to 80% of her monthly salary.
Obviously, if Xiao Hong can freely choose the overtime date, it will be more cost-effective to choose the first three days of overtime. Considering the large number of travelers in the early stage of the National Day holiday, working overtime three days before the national day can not only earn a lot of overtime pay, but also travel off peak, which can kill two birds with one stone.
