Apple donated money to repair the Amazon rainforest
Apple CEO Tim Cook said on twitter today that Apple plans to donate money to the Amazon rainforest to 'protect and restore' the rainforest.
Fires have ravaged the Amazon rainforest in the past few weeks. Fires often occur in July and August, but fires in 2019 are much more serious. The number of fires is also 85% higher than last year. As of Sunday night, there were more than 80000 fires in Brazil.
Earlier this month, Brazil declared a state of emergency because more and more fires are affecting Brazil's Amazon, Pala, Mato Grosso and Rondonia.
Cook did not disclose how much Apple plans to donate, but under similar circumstances in the past, Apple has provided more than $1 million in fire relief funds to organizations such as the Red Cross.
