It was reported that at 15:20 on August 25, 2019, the Huangshun Huangguoshu fire brigade received an alarm that one child accidentally fell into the water at the section from Feibao bridge to the exit of Tianxing bridge scenic spot, and three family members were washed away by the water during the rescue. After receiving the report, the Huangshun Huangguoshu fire brigade immediately dispatched rescue personnel to cooperate with the Huangguoshu Tourism Area Management Committee and Guizhou Huangguoshu tourism company to carry out rescue. Two of the four people were rescued on the spot (with stable vital signs). After 18 hours of search and rescue, two lost contacts were found at 9:30 on August 26, 2019. The doctor confirmed that two people had no vital signs after on-site inspection. The search and rescue work has been completed and relevant follow-up work is under way.

On August 26, the staff of Guizhou Huangguoshu Tourism Group Co., Ltd. told Nandu that Xiaotian's falling place deviated from the tourist walkway for more than 10 meters. The second half of Xingqiao scenic spot was closed the day after the incident, and more than 100 people were searched and rescued. As the area is a karst landform with complex terrain, the search and rescue lasts for a long time.
