However, it is reported that today, the three major operators announced that the 5g commercial release time was postponed to before September 20 or after the national day.
It is reported that the main reason for the delay may be that the 5g construction project is a huge challenge. First, 5g coverage must be two to three times that of 4G. Such a huge project requires more funds. Secondly, there are still some technical problems in realizing 5g coverage. Therefore, the three operators did not have enough time to prepare for 5g construction and had to postpone it.
Among them, China Telecom plans to build 40000 5g base stations in about 50 cities by the end of the year; China Unicom will implement "7 + 33 + n", open 5g pilot network in seven cities, realize hot spot coverage in 33 cities, and customize 5g network in n cities; China Mobile plans to build more than 50000 base stations nationwide and realize 5g commercial services in more than 50 cities.
