Simmons visits Somaliland

Reported that 31 year old Carrie & middot; Simmons works for an American environmental protection organization. She applied for a visa to the United States in the next few days, but the U.S. authorities rejected her application.
The report speculates that this decision stems from Simmons' five-day visit to East Africa last year, which was divided by civil war.

The report points out that it is uncertain whether Simmons has applied for the U.S. electronic travel authorization system (esta). In 2016, a question was added to the esta table: 'have you been to Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen on or after March 1, 2011?' If the answer to this question is yes, esta's application will be completely rejected.
Simmons, the US embassy in London and 10 Downing Street declined to comment.
But a diplomatic source said: 'we hope the matter can be resolved in time so that Simmons can go to the United States as planned.'
