First aid measures for baby choking

Choking milk is very harmful to the newborn baby. If not rescued in time, it may be fatal. Therefore, it is very important for expectant mothers to master some common sense of first aid.

So why does the baby choke? If the baby really chokes, what should I do? What are the first-aid methods in life that can be used? As a mother of two children, I actually have my own views on this.

When the baby is drinking milk, it often appears the phenomenon of spitting milk. Sometimes the milk will flow back to the throat when spitting, which will cause choking milk. If choking milk is serious, it will cause choking of the baby. Then parents should learn the first aid method of choking milk.

For slight spilling and spitting, the baby will adjust his breathing and swallowing movements, and will not inhale into the trachea, as long as the baby's breathing condition and skin color are closely observed. If you spit a lot of milk, first of all, you should quickly turn your baby's face to one side to prevent the spit from flowing back into your throat and trachea. Then, wrap the handkerchief around the finger and stretch it into the mouth, even the throat, quickly clean the spit and spilled milk food to keep the respiratory tract smooth, and then clean the nostril with a small cotton stick.

If the baby does not breathe or his face turns dark, it means that the vomit may have entered the trachea, so that he lies prone on the adult's knee or bed, and vigorously beats his back four or five times, so that he can cough up. If it still doesn't work, immediately clamp or pinch the soles of the feet to stimulate the baby to cry because of the pain and increase breathing. At this time, the most important thing is to let him breathe oxygen into the lungs, rather than wasting time trying to get out the foreign body.

In the above process, the baby should be sent to the hospital for examination at the same time. If the baby's breathing is smooth after choking, it's better to find a way to make him cry hard again to observe the oxygen absorption and exhalation during crying and see if there is any abnormality, such as weak voice tone change, difficulty in inhaling, serious chest depression, etc., and send to the hospital immediately if there is any. If the baby cries loudly and brightly, is full of anger and ruddy complexion, it means there is no problem.

For infants who often vomit milk, parents should strengthen observation, raise the head of the bed appropriately, and let the infant lie on his side. When breastfeeding or nursing, the head should be slightly higher. After feeding, hold the baby up, pat the back gently, and then put it back on the bed after burping. At night, the baby should be regularly observed to see if there is any vomiting, breathing and sleeping posture. In addition, the mother should prevent the nipple from blocking the baby's mouth and nose when feeding the baby, resulting in asphyxia.

In a word, when feeding baby milk, we should pay attention to methods to minimize the occurrence of baby's spitting. If such a problem has occurred, it is best to find out the root cause of the problem in time, only in this way can we reduce the harm of choking milk to the baby's body and mind.
