Among the 18 provincial cities, Zhengzhou has a permanent resident population of 10.14 million, which has entered the ranks of cities with a population of 10 million for the first time, surpassing Nanyang as the city with the largest permanent resident population in Henan Province; Jiyuan has the smallest permanent population of 730000. In 2018, among the 18 cities under the jurisdiction of provinces, 15 permanent population increased and 3 permanent population decreased. The report shows that in 2018, the total population of our province increased steadily, the birth rate decreased, and the sex ratio of babies at birth tended to be normal. The report shows that in 2018, there were 49.67 million permanent residents living in cities and towns in our province, and the urbanization rate of permanent residents was 51.71%, an increase of 1.55 percentage points over the end of last year, ranking first in China.
