Zhaxijiangcuo said that the spring Everest mountaineering activities in the Tibet Autonomous Region in 2019 have ended, and a total of 362 climbers have been received during this period, which is basically the same as in previous years. There are 142 foreign climbers, 12 domestic climbers and 208 Nepalese Sherpa climbers. 241 people have successfully climbed Mount Everest, including 94 foreign climbers, 12 domestic climbers, 108 Nepalese Sherpa climbers, 21 domestic guides and 6 domestic road groups.
At present, a total of 3019 people have climbed Mount Everest from the north slope.

Zhaxijiangcuo said that in order to ensure the safety of climbers and the orderly development of mountaineering activities, the Tibet Autonomous Region has formulated and promulgated regulations and relevant policy documents such as the regulations of the Tibet Autonomous Region on mountaineering, the regulations of the Tibet Autonomous Region on environmental protection, and the measures of the Tibet Autonomous Region for the implementation of the regulations of the people's Republic of China on nature reserves. The mountaineering management department makes restrictive requirements on the age of Everest climbers; Climbers must have climbing experience above 8000 meters above sea level. Climbers who rely entirely on others to climb are prohibited from climbing Everest; The mountaineering permit must be applied for before February 28 of each year. During the application, the management department must review the climber's climbing certificate, climbing form, climbing route, etc.
In addition, due to strong high-altitude winds and seasonal winds in summer, autumn and winter, heavy snowfall and frequent avalanches, the Tibet Autonomous Region also limits the climbing season of Everest to spring; During the mountaineering season, international meetings are held regularly to exchange international mountaineering experience, share meteorological information, study and judge the window time of climbing, provide technical and information support for safely climbing Everest, and require each mountaineering team to be equipped with a leader and at least one guide for each climber.
During the mountaineering season in 2019, the Tibet Autonomous Region will routinely carry out mountaineering garbage cleaning activities, give full play to the role of full-time Alpine environmental protection brigade, Mountaineering Guide and local villagers, and give cash rewards to those who bring garbage down from high altitude; Purchase garbage cans, sewage treatment buckets and other appliances, customize environmental protection garbage bags and give them to the mountaineering team free of charge. A total of 10.67 tons of garbage were cleaned up during the whole mountaineering season.
