What are the new regulations for electric vehicles on the road? What impact will the new regulations

Electric vehicles are environmentally friendly, light and easy to operate, so electric vehicles are the travel choice of more and more people. Small electric vehicles shuttling through the traffic can be seen everywhere on the street. Therefore, the government has also promulgated new regulations on electric vehicles on the road. Next, let's tell you what the new regulations for electric vehicles on the road are and what impact the new regulations will bring.

On May 17, the State Administration of market supervision, the State Standardization Administration and the Ministry of industry and information technology approved and issued the national standard of safety technical specifications for electric bicycles, with the national standard of GB 17761-2018. In view of the frequent traffic accidents and fires of electric bicycles in recent years, the new national standard standardized the design specifications of electric bicycles, In particular, the fire and flame retardant performance standard has been strengthened and officially implemented from April 15, 2019. Technical code for safety of electric bicycles (GB 17761-2018) stipulates that the maximum design speed of electric bicycles shall not exceed 25km / h, the maximum positive mass shall not exceed 55kg, the maximum power of motors shall not exceed 400W, and the maximum voltage of batteries shall not exceed 48V. In terms of size, the maximum height of electric vehicle shall not be greater than 1100mm, and the center distance (wheelbase) of front and rear wheels shall not be greater than 1250mm. In addition, the specification also requires that the maximum braking distance of electric vehicles shall not exceed 7m in sunny days and 9m in rainy days. It is worth noting that the new national standard also requires that electric bicycles must adopt the pedal riding function, that is, they can be driven by manpower. If there is no pedal riding function, there is no essential difference between electric bicycle and electric moped in product form, power source and use mode, and it can not be included in non motor vehicle management. In addition, the pedal riding function also allows consumers to continue driving in case of vehicle failure or battery power shortage, avoiding long-distance implementation and more convenient for consumers. So how will illegal electric vehicles be handled? It is understood that all electric vehicles that do not meet the regulations will be banned from the road and will be treated by means of mandatory scrapping and replacement. Or, if you have to drive these unqualified electric vehicles on the road, you must obtain a motorcycle driver's license according to the regulations before you can go on the road. Those who drive unqualified electric vehicles on the road without a license will be fined and the unqualified electric vehicles will be confiscated!
